Job Description
Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business in Germany we are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager for construction projects to join our Data Centre team in Düsseldorf.
With a market leading client base and the opportunity to take the lead on strategic commissions on one of our high-profile projects, this is an exciting time to join the business unit and grow a career with Turner & Townsend.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee quality control processes for a large‑scale data centre construction project
- Ensure quality requirements are embedded throughout construction, testing, commissioning, and handover
- Manage the Defects Liability Period, including defect identification, tracking, remediation, and close‑out
- Coordinate closely with contractors, design teams, commissioning teams, and client representatives
- Review and approve inspection and test plans, quality documentation, and handover deliverables
- Monitor compliance with approved specifications, drawings, and agreed quality standards
- Lead quality inspections and snagging activities during completion and pre‑handover phases
- Ensure timely completion of remedial works and verification of final quality outcomes
- Maintain accurate reporting and clear communication on quality performance and defect status
- Support a high‑quality project close‑out and transition into operations
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’ degree in engineering or a related field is considered beneficial for the role
- Multiple years’ experience in a Quality role on large construction projects, ideally data centres or mission‑critical facilities
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, defect management, and handover processes
- Experience working to detailed technical specifications
- Excellent coordination, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with a variety of related computer software applications including MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Project, Word) is required
- Experience and proficiency with online document management applications is a plus
- Fluent English (written and spoken) required; German proficiency is a strong advantage
- Availability for on-site work
