For our Digital R&D we are looking for an exceptional leader to take on the role of Head of Platform Engineering and Digital Architecture (f/d/m). In this critical position, you will have strategic responsibility for our digital ecosystem architecture in both Culinary and Cleaning product lines. You will play a pivotal role in consolidating diverse teams, bridging the gap between different mindsets, particularly between Device and Software. Your primary focus will be on development and, consequently, on engineers, and your expertise in platform and architecture will be paramount.

Responsibilities

• Strategically lead Vorwerk Home's digital ecosystem architecture in alignment with the company's vision.
• Own the development and evolution of the platform architecture, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
• Identify and implement synergies across product lines, consolidating cloud, embedded, and app domains.
• Ensure platform infrastructure scalability, reliability, and security.
• Integrate proven technology trends to keep Vorwerk innovative.
• Consolidate international teams, focusing on engineering team growth.
• Lead architecture efforts across Frontend, Backend, IoT, and devices using Azure, AWS IoT Core, and relevant technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams with a customer-centric approach.
• Foster interaction with hardware system architects and align technical strategy with management.
• Enable cross-functional teams and developers to break down traditional silos between devices and cloud/apps.
• Lead and collaborate with architects and work closely with suppliers and external partners, especially in operations and cloud areas.
• Drive strategic vision for next-gen Embedded and Cloud platforms with AI components.
• Oversee 10 million connected household appliances, managing complexities and unknown variables.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in project and product-focused roles.
• Strong background in IoT architecture and platform development.
• A background in embedded technology from the ground up with proficiency in Embedded technologies, including C++, Linux, AWS, and IoT.
• Knowledge of Cloud technologies and conceptual thinking.
• A strong understanding of technology trends and a willingness to shape the direction.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with hardware system architects as well as software architects.
• Humble and open mindset, comfortable with complexity management and unknowns.
• Focus on development and growth rather than micromanaging milestones.
