Underground Mining Engineer - On Site

We are proud to be partnering with a global leader in the lime and industrial minerals sector to recruit an experienced Underground Mining Engineer for a key underground mining operation in Germany.

You'll be at the heart of operational execution and continuous improvement, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective contractor management across the site.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Lead and oversee underground operations in strict alignment with German mining authority regulations
* Supervise daily mining activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency targets are achieved
* Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all technical mining parameters
* Act as the primary interface between underground and surface operations
* Coordinate and supervise service providers and external contractors
* Identify opportunities for process and performance optimization
* Drive implementation of internal safety guidelines, operating procedures, and risk assessments

What We're Looking For

* Master's degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
* 10-15 years of experience in underground mining, ideally within the industrial minerals sector
* Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and external partners
* In-depth knowledge of European mining legislation and safety regulations
* Demonstrated ability in contractor oversight and operational planning
* Fluency in German and English essential
* Proficiency in MS Office and mine planning software
* Independent, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
