Ready to use your expertise to drive real change? At Retraced , you’ll join an ambitious team that is helping fashion brands adopt our platform to create transparent, sustainable supply chains and product compliance with the help of AI.

You’ll set the tone for how we work, grow, and collaborate. As our People Lead reporting to the CEO, you’ll own the full People stack from hands on HR operations to companywide culture and talent development.

What you will do

  • HR operations and compliance: Own onboarding and offboarding, contracts, policies, documentation, and HRIS hygiene. Prepare accurate payroll inputs and oversee benefits administration

  • Legal compliance across entities: Ensure adherence to German employment law and coordinate with experts for other jurisdictions in China, Denmark, Italy, Mexico, and Spain. Support relocations, visas, and Employer of Record setups

  • Hiring partnership: Partner with our recruiter to source and hire top talent for Retraced

  • People strategy and culture: Co-design people programs with leadership to drive engagement, growth, and performance. Champion an inclusive, feedback-oriented culture

  • Learning, talent, performance: Lead L&D initiatives, talent management, and performance frameworks that support high performance across locations

  • Employee experience: Run initiatives that boost belonging and retention, including team events, recognition programs, and pulse surveys. Turn insights into action plans with managers

  • Trusted partner: Advise employees and leaders on employee relations, feedback, and conflict resolution with empathy and clarity

  • Projects and tools: Lead strategic People projects like tool implementations and process improvements; prepare certification readiness where needed

  • Hiring process excellence: Collaborate with Recruitment and Operations to streamline pipelines and strengthen employer branding

  • Data-driven HR: Track and report People KPIs, using insights to drive continuous improvement

  • Support international growth: Coordinate People related topics for new and existing entities, including a growing unit in Spain, aligning providers and processes across countries

Who you are

  • 4+ years as a hands on People/HR generalist in fast paced, international environments; scale ups/startups a plus

  • Strong grasp of German Employment law and global HR practices; bonus for Spain, Mexico, Italy, or Denmark

  • Highly beneficial if you have already worked in a similar position within a remote/Hybrid first company

  • Operational excellence in payroll preparation, contracts, and HR systems ( Personio, Workmotion , Teamtailor or similar)

  • Strategic mindset paired with pragmatic execution and process rigor

  • Confident communicator and approachable partner to employees and leaders

  • You must be willing to spend a minimum of 2 days per week onsite in our Düsseldorf HQ

  • Fluent German and English (C1)
