Your responsibilities

The role involves conducting counterparty and exposure analysis, reviewing contracts, negotiating credit terms, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. The analyst will advice senior management on investment decisions by modelling credit risk solutions and evaluating credit risks of new and existing business.

The (Senior) Credit Risk Analyst will report to the Head of Project and Finance Credit Risks.

• Effective management of credit risk arising from Uniper’s commercial activities, including commodity trading, procurement and tailor-made asset-related customer solutions
• Performance of quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify key risks at a single name and portfolio level
• Monitoring and ensuring compliance with credit limits and credit terms approved for each counterparty
• Structuring and negotiation of credit components in bespoke contracts as well as negotiation of collateral concepts; successful representation of Uniper in credit negotiations with external counterparts
• Perform high quality credit risk assessment (incl. financial modelling of derivatives), using quantitative and qualitative methods for investment decision
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as front office, legal, and external counterparties
• Keep abreast of market developments and credit trends

Your profile

• Several years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the energy sector
• Degree in econometrics, finance economics or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize financial and non-financial data and model credit risk exposure
• Flexible self-starter, well organized, strong sense of initiative with the ability to think independently and solution-oriented
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good computer-based skills, proficient in Excel, and familiar with credit risk tools and methodologies
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent spoken and written English is pre-requisite. German is a plus
