Cloud Platform Engineer for Tech Startup (m/w/d)

At Livello, you won't be writing ticket after ticket in a faceless enterprise. You'll be one of the people responsible for our entire cloud platform - the backbone that connects our intelligent retail kiosks to the services that make them work - keeping hundreds of smart kiosks running autonomously across multiple countries.
This role is a production infrastructure position with operational responsibility from day one. We are looking for candidates who already have demonstrable hands-on experience operating Linux-based cloud workloads in production, including Kubernetes environments, GCP, messaging systems, deployment automation, and infrastructure troubleshooting. The focus of the role is platform reliability, security, networking, access control, and service operations across our cloud stack.

Tasks

• Operate and improve our Kubernetes-based infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, keeping production workloads healthy and performant
• Modernize our authorization and authentication services for better scalability and security
• Implement and maintain deployment pipelines with a focus on consistency, automation, and reproducibility using tools like Ansible
• Design inter-service communication patterns that keep our distributed system resilient
• Cloud security practices including certificate management, access controls, and operational compliance
• Build internal tooling and management capabilities for cloud components such as messaging systems and databases
• Develop and maintain redundancy and high-availability strategies as the platform scales

Requirements

• Practical experience with Linux, containers, and cloud infrastructure
• Kubernetes (deployments, services, networking)
• Hands-on exposure to Google Cloud Platform or a comparable cloud provider
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code or configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
• Confident understanding of Linux, container networking, DNS, TLS, authentication/authorization concepts, and incident-oriented troubleshooting
• Ability to take ownership for operational stability, rollout processes, and security-related infrastructure tasks
• A valid full-time work permit for Germany
