Join us in making a difference

Our Visual and AI Content team brings trivago's platform to life through images and AI-generated content — from the main image and photo galleries to destination visuals, hotel highlights, and review summaries — delivered straight to travelers as they search. As a Working Student in Data & Insights, you'll sit between data science, product, and content operations, helping our small team ship features seen by millions. You'll work closely with scientists to dig into data, partner with our product manager on analysis that shapes decisions, and coordinate with external annotators to keep our quality bar high. It's a hands-on look at how a modern AI content pipeline runs end to end, with plenty of room to learn and grow as you build real data analytics and product skills — including the chance to pick up Python and SQL along the way. trivago is a place where ambition and support go hand in hand — we hold high standards and genuinely invest in each other's growth.

How you’ll make an impact :

• Work closely with data scientists and the product managers on analysis work.
• Coordinate with external data annotators to perform quality checks.
• Support the product manager with product analysis, including competitor benchmarking and market trend tracking relevant to trivago's AI-generated content.
• Analyze user behavior data to surface insights that inform product and content decisions across trivago's platform.
• Implement models that generate data based on defined business rules to support content and product decisions.
• Help translate data insights into product requirements and prioritization recommendations.

What you'll learn :

• How a modern AI content pipeline runs end-to-end — from data collection and annotation to production deployment.
• How to translate business rules into working data models that power real product decisions.
• Practical, hands-on experience with Python and SQL in a live production environment.
• How data-driven teams evaluate and improve visual and AI-generated content — from images and galleries to hotel highlights and review summaries — at scale.
• How to conduct product and competitor analysis, and translate data into requirements and prioritization decisions like a product manager.

What you'll need to thrive:

• An interest in product management — comfortable translating data into clear requirements and helping shape prioritization decisions, while communicating effectively across a cross-functional team.
• Strong analytical skills — hands-on experience with Python and/or SQL is a plus.
• Currently enrolled at a German university (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung required).
• A genuine learning mindset — you approach challenges with curiosity, seek out feedback, and continuously look for ways to develop and grow.
• A performance mindset — you set ambitious goals for yourself and have the determination and resilience to follow through and achieve them.
• An open and curious mindset toward AI tools and automation — you actively explore how AI can enhance your work and are excited to grow alongside evolving technologies.
