The Logistics Transportation Planning Manager is responsible for the strategic design, optimization, and ongoing design of the company`s transportation network, from origin to destination. This role involved analyzing current transportation flows, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction, and developing robust and agile transportation solutions that meet the company`s operational needs and customer expectations.

This is a hybrid working role based at our head office in Düsseldorf and requires in-office days.

Your responsibilities

• Network Design and Optimization: Develop and maintain an optimal transportation network strategy for inbound & outbound shipments, considering factors such as cost, transit times, reliability, customs regulations, and capacity within the supply chain landscape.
• Capacity Planning and Communication : Forecast and plan transportation capacity based on demand projection and business growth, considering seasonal fluctuations and the specific challenges of transportation. Develop strategies to secure adequate capacity and manage fluctuations effectively. Communicate overall Supply Chain transportation volume plan to the operational transportation planning to enable selecting appropriate modes, carriers, and routes to meet event timelines and cost targets.
• Data Analysis and Modelling: Analyze transportation data (volumes, cost, leadtimes) to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for network improvements. Develop and utilize network modelling tools and techniques.
• Route and Mode Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize transportation routes and modes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and meet delivery times, considering the complexities of cross-border transportation within Europe.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Define key performance indicators for the transportation performance, identify areas for improvement, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements within the transportation planning function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, considering best practices in European logistics.
• Communication and Stakeholder Management: Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding event logistics plans, progress, and potential issues.
• System Utilization: Utilize relevant logistics and supply chain management systems (e.g., ERP, TMS, WMS) to plan, execute, and monitor event-related activities.
• Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

What you bring

• Fluent in English, German is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Transportation and Transportation network planning, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably within the fashion industry.
• Strong understanding of various transportation modes, carrier operations and freight management.
• Strong data affinity, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve logistical challenges.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), preferable in fashion industry.
• Proficiency in other relevant software (e.g., ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel).
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent in English, German is a plus
