Shopify Developer (m/w/d)

To strengthen our team in Düsseldorf, we are looking for a Shopify (PLUS) Developer with strong knowledge in front-end and back-end development. In this role, you will work and oversee all technical aspects of our 10 + Shopify e-commerce platforms :

• improving both the user-facing and backend functionalities
• launching (relaunching) new stores
• ensuring excellent performance, scalability, and user experience

• Shopify Plus Theme Development & Customization :
  • Create and optimize Shopify themes using Shopify Liquid .
  • Customize themes and sections focusing on dynamic content presentation and the use of Metafields .
• Back-End & API Integration :
  • Develop and optimize Shopify + Checkout Extensibility applications .
  • Integrate third-party services, apps, and tools into the Shopify ecosystem to extend functionality.
  • Custom integrations with Shopify APIs (GraphQL and REST).
• Performance Optimization :
  • Focus on SEO , Lighthouse audits , and general performance improvements to ensure excellent Core Web Vitals scores (LCP, FID, CLS).
  • Implement lazy loading , preloading critical assets, and minimizing render-blocking JS.
• Collaboration & Communication :
  • Work closely with design, marketing, operations and agencies to implement features that enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure browser compatibility and mobile-first design .
• Testing & Debugging :
  • Regularly test and debug the website to improve performance and fix issues.
  • Familiarity with test frameworks and integration testing .
• Code & Process Optimization :
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in both code and development processes.
  • Follow best practices for version control , CI/CD pipelines , and technical documentation .

• Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of Liquid (Shopify's template language), HTML , CSS , JavaScript , and popular front-end frameworks (e.g., React ).
• Experience with Shopify and Shopify Plus : You have successfully completed multiple projects.
• Problem Understanding : The ability to analyze and solve complex technical challenges.
• Project Management : Experience in agile work environments.
• Performance Optimization and Technical SEO expertise for e-commerce websites.
• Ideally, experience with tools like Shopify Flow , Klaviyo , and Google Tag Manager .
