An international bank is looking for a Credit Analyst to join its Japanese Corporate Banking Division in Düsseldorf, Germany.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who would like to build a long-term career in Corporate Banking. The bank is investing in the development of future Relationship Managers and is looking for professionals with Credit Analysis experience, or strong potential in this area, who are interested in developing both analytical and client-facing skills.

The successful candidate will spend the first two years developing expertise in Credit Analysis and Corporate Banking before progressing into a Relationship Manager position with broader client responsibilities.

TYPE: Full-time, initially 2-year contract (with the intention of moving to an indefinite contract as a Relationship Manager)

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

SALARY: €50-70k DOE, including 13th month payment + Benefits

START: ASAP

LOCATION: Düsseldorf, Germany (Hybrid, up to 2 days WFH after training)

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct financial analysis of Japanese corporate clients and prepare internal rating applications

• Analyse financial statements, cash flow, profitability and creditworthiness of clients

• Prepare credit applications for new, amended and renewed credit facilities in cooperation with Relationship Managers

• Conduct industry and sector analysis to assess clients' competitive positioning and business performance

• Monitor expiring borrower ratings and credit applications to ensure timely renewals

• Maintain accurate credit documentation and internal records

• Support internal and external audits as a contact person for credit-related matters

• Develop client-facing skills through exposure to customer meetings and relationship management activities

• Support the Japanese Corporate Banking team in providing financing solutions to clients

• Build a strong foundation for future progression into a Relationship Manager role

Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Science or a related field

• Experience in Credit Analysis, Corporate Banking, Financial Analysis, Audit, Accounting, Risk Management or a related area is preferred

• Experience handling credit applications and/or credit ratings is advantageous

• Good understanding of financial analysis, corporate finance and accounting principles

• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

• Experience using banking systems such as GCARS, OVS, FiBridge or ZEUS would be beneficial

• Business fluent German and English is required

• Japanese language skills would be an advantage but are not essential

• Strong communication skills and an interest in developing into a client-facing banking professional

• Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment
