Trade Operations Specialist (m/w/d)

Where settlement meets growth! For our valued partner in the energy industry, we are looking for a Trade Operations Specialist (m/f/d) in Düsseldorf . In this position, you will support the operational lifecycle of complex power transactions in the German and UK markets, including PPAs and battery storage related contracts. You will operate at the centre of settlements and invoicing, ensuring robust processes, audit ready documentation and timely issue resolution in a fast moving trading environment.

Your tasks:

• Perform Trade Operations and Back Office activities for complex power contracts across the German and UK markets, including PPAs, BESS transactions and ancillary services
• Prepare, calculate, validate and process settlements and invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payment flows with counterparties, TSOs and internal teams
• Conduct deal verification and trade validation, including data quality checks and operational set up in relevant systems
• Investigate and resolve settlement queries and exceptions, including payment discrepancies and volume or price mismatches
• Coordinate closely with Front Office, Origination, Risk, Credit, Finance, Tax, Accounting, Legal and IT to ensure operational requirements are delivered end to end
• Maintain strong controls, documentation and KPI tracking to support audit readiness, governance and process transparency
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate processes and by supporting change and testing activities

Your qualifications:

• University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a comparable field, or equivalent professional experience
• Proven settlement experience in Trading Operations, Back Office, commodity operations or a comparable operational environment, including settlement calculation, invoicing, reconciliation and dispute resolution
• Knowledge of German and UK power markets and the operational lifecycle of structured energy contracts
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, confident working with high value transactions, tight deadlines and complex data
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with Front Office and cross functional stakeholders in an international environment
• Fluent English skills; German language skills are an advantage
